R6050 DNS drops every 1-2 hours
Hi all, This issue has been happening for a few weeks. Every 1-2 hours I get the "This site can't be reached" message due to DNS issues. It also causes similar issues on all other network dev...
Are you using ipv6?
If not, enable it.
If so, make sure to change the IPv6 dns server as well.
what speeds do you pay for? The R6050 is a pretty anemic 10/100mbps router. its not gigabit capable and even its wifi is pretty slow. Depending on what you pay for, an upgrade might make a significant difference.

This is important.
DFO says they have the CM700 modem. That has Gigabit Ethernet output.
With Internet speeds faster than 100 Mbps increasingly common, especialy on cable services. I would not be surprised if the modem was delivering more than that to the router, possibly wasting a lot of the bandwith that DFO is paying for.
