(R6080) Why are there no VPN settings on my router administrative options?

I have been trying to set up my nordvpn service to my router. (R6080) I'm having trouble finding information about it. It seems that my administrative options are different than others. I don't have VPN options like I seen in other tutorials online. I'm wondering if my router is even capable of having a VPN service applied? If anybody has any information I'd appreciate a lesson.

    Thank you for reaching out. Your router model R6080 only supports VPN Passthrough therefore you cannot input any of your VPN settings to the router's configuration.

    As olympos1625 says, your router is pretty well the cheapest and least capable that Netgear makes.

     

    According to Netgear's manual for this device, not always the most reliable source of information, the LAN and WAN support only 10BASE-T or 100BASE-TX. That makes it slower than many newer internet services and most modern network hardware. This may not matter to you, but be warned that it will hobble you if you ever sign up for faster Internet. It also slows down whatever is going on in your local network. Newer devices support 1000BASE-TX.

    Nothing wrong with it being slow, just don't expect too much, especially on the VPN front.

    If you want to know what might work with nordvpn, ask them for advice and how to set up whatever you use.
