R6120 does not see internet when booting. always amber.
Tried initial setup multiple times. Even connected directly to my modem with supplied cable. R6120 router does not see internet. Always amber LED.
Connected to ES2251 supplied by SPECTRUM cable.
I switched back to my old wifi router NetGear WPN824 and is working properly.
I have to add, I did get the R6120 LED to turn green when I rebooted my modem. I would get a message that I was connected, but no internet.
A couple things.
1. the R6120 is only a fast ethernet (10/100mbps) device. Its not gigabit capable. If you pay for speeds over 100mbps, its bottlenecking your connection big time. A gigabit router is a better choice.
2. the EX2251 is a modem only device. If you're connecting to the R6120 to it make sure to disconnect everything (even coax) from the modem and power it off for around 10 minutes. Spectrum is great at not releasing the public ip address they assign. Then connect coax back to it and power it on. Give it a couple minutes to boot. Then connect the R6120 to it and power the R6120 on.
Give it a couple minutes and then attempt the internet setup on it.

As this is a router, there is probably a modem sitting in front of it. You need to get the devices to forget any inherited settings. Among other things, that means rebooting the network.
Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:- Turn off and unplug modem.
- Turn off router and computers.
- Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
- Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
- Turn on computers and rest of network.
