R6120 seems to block Ecobee thermostat
After several months of use, my Ecobee3 Lite can no longer connect to their server. I first noticed this after a brief power failure. I've had failures several times though with issue. If I us...

Yes, I've reset everything a zillion times. hahaha The ecobee is not blocked by the router. It CAN ping various addresses okay but it won't connect to whatever servers ecobee uses UNLESS I bypass the router via a hotspot. My ISP, spectrum, tells me my IP address scheduled to be changed next Thursday so I'll see what happens then. thanks for your input

Try a different DNS Server. Here's a few. Also remember to change the ipv6 dns server if ipv6 is enabled.
CloudFlare
IPv4: 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1
IPv6: 2606:4700:4700:0:0:0:0:1111 and 2606:4700:4700:0:0:0:0:1001
GoogleDNS
IPv4: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4
IPv6: 2001:4860:4860:0:0:0:0:8888 and 2001:4860:4860:0:0:0:0:8844

Thank you for the reply. Changing the DNS servers didn't help. My latest thinking is that my IP address is being blocked by Ecobee. I noticed my laptop when wired directly to modem and used as a hotspot for ecobee, it connects fine. The only difference, I see, is that the IP address is different for the laptop vs the router. I found my router's IP is blacklisted on 3 sites presumably for Spectrum allowing some sort of spamming going on from their email address (I don't use it). So I'll go down this road and see what I can do.

How did you find this?
Are you using access controls?
Try a reset on the router or ecobee?
