r6220 and cloudflare dns

i have the r6220 router and when trying to use cloudflare dns servers, 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1, any dns tests  i run still shows as using opendns. i have clicked apply and even rebooted router. i WAS using opendns but have removed all things pertaining to them. i now see that router does same thing when trying to use googles dns servers also.

used to be that when inputting cloudflares dns, router wouldn't even accept it and automatically reverted back to opendns but at least i can now input cloudflares, just can't use it apparently?

is this one of those times i need to reset router after switching dns servers? if so, that is dumber than dirt!

any one have any ideas on what the issue is?

thank you

  • problem solved. i just put the dns i wanted to use into the network interface.

Hi minimeme, do you have the LPC (Live Parental Controls) enabled? That feature uses OpenDNS. If not, you can try flushing the DNS on your computer. If the issue persists, a reset may be an option.
