R6260 — AC1600 Smart WiFi Router - internet provider claims router is not retaining DHCP IP Address

Been having tons of issues.  Sometimes the unplug/reboot works, but sometimes that won't work at all and I have to call the internet provider (Spectrum) and they have to reboot on their end.

They said I should call NetGear and let them know the router is not retaining the DHCP IP Address whenever Spectrum changes IP Addresses (which I guess they do fairly often).  The said the router is supposed to recognize that and adapt to it (like I assume my previous routers always did).

I'm 13 days past my warranty date so seeing if I can get any advice on here.  I just bought this router (well 103 days ago) and would hate to buy another one if this one isn't really bad.

Thanks!

Not sure that that makes sense.

What firmware version do you have on the R6260 device?

A number is more useful than "the latest". (It may not be by the time people read this.) There can also be newer versions, or "hot fixes", that do not show up if you check for new firmware in the browser interface.

It might also help if you told people what the modem is in front of this router, if there is one. The model number could be useful. Is it, by any chance, also a router, with a set of LAN ports on the back?

The reason for asking is that a lot of people turn up here trying to put a router behind a modem that is also a router. That can complicate troubleshooting.
