R6260 Firmware Update Hasn't Been Offered

It appears the last version was 1.1.0.88, which was issued around or before July 2022. Is this product end of life and, if not, is there a published EOL date? If not, why isn't the firmware being updated? I certainly want to keep an eye out for deals if it's even close.

Any specific issues or observations related to the R6260?

Just in case, here is the repository -> End of Service for Home Products

Updates happen for a few reasons.

    • Bugs on the device
    • New features
    • Security issues

If none of these happen, then there is no reason to update the firmware.

Your R6260 router dates back to 2018. There have been five years for bugs to surface and get squished by now.

It is a basic router with few bells and whistles to update. (On the positive side, being simple it won't offer to sell you fancy services designed to extract more money from your wallet.)

As to security issues, there too the R6260 may be too "primitive" to be susceptible to exotic security attacks. Most of the issues that appear in on-line places are lab created and, from what we read here, rarely make it into the real world.

So, as schumaku asks, do you have a problem with your router that needs attention?
