R6260 Not showing and no wifi

My router stopped working overnight and I've tried all of the steps to fix it but nothing has worked so far. I've powered off and on both the modem and the router, reset both, tried the Nighthawk app which won't connect because there's no wi-fi to connect to. My original router name doesn't show up and I assumed after the reset the Netgear15 was the connection I was supposed to pick but none of the passwords I tried worked (I have a list written down). Going through my PC settings shows the router not connected to the PC even though all of the cables are connected and I haven't changed any connections. There is power to it and the internet to my modem/PC is working.

I was thinking that too. It seems these Netgear routers are only lasting a couple years these days.

Did you do that in the right order?

Be sure to restart your network in this sequence:

    • Turn off and unplug modem.
    • Turn off router and computers.
    • Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
    • Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
    • Turn on computers and rest of network.

Does the wifi LED come on? Check that the On/Off button in the side isn't off.

After a reset, the wifi password is the default written on the label on the router.

If you can get back in there and set up the router, you can always give the wifi the same SSID and password so that other stuff knows how to connect.

Does the router show a connection to the modem?

The R6250 may be a bit long in the tooth, but if it works for you, why spend money on something else?

I've done every single one of those things and none of them have worked. There are 2 lights on the router that are on, the power and one that looks like a radio signal thing maybe? the (( )) with the dot in the middle but the other 2 lights are not on. In the settings on my PC it says the router is disconnected even though the power is on and all cables are connected and I haven't changed/disconnected anything.

We have the same router model and ours stopped working yesterday (07/17/24). Went through all the troubleshooting steps with no success. Were you able to resolve the issue, or did you purchase a new router?
