[R6300] Trying to forward port, that is in use
Hello, I'm trying to forward some ports on my Netgear R6300 router for my Xbox One as I've been having some issues with getting randomly disconnected from game servers (specifically Black Ops 3 a...

Are you running Call of Duty on your computer?
Anyway, I researched this a bit and it looks like Call of Duty defaults to using port 3074, which conflicts with Xbox Live. But according to this Activision support article (link), using port 3075 may work as an alternative.
Try the following steps:
- Temporarily disable UPnP on the R6300. This should clear UPnP forwarding rule for port 3074.
- Set up port forwarding for port 3074 to your Xbox.
- Re-enable UPnP. Your computer may try open port 3074 using UPnP but the router should reject it. Hopefully, your computer will try port 3075.

Thanks for your response!
I am trying to run Call of Duty Black Ops 3 from my Xbox One, but I do also play Black Ops 3 and World at War on my computer. Does this complicate things, or am I fine since Steam seemed to utilize completely different ports than those I'm forwarding?
If I try the steps you've given me, and I begin to encounter issues on my PC, can I simply remove the forward to port 3074 for my Xbox One and it'll likely work again? If not, is there a general process I could follow to reset my PC as UPnP forwarding to 3074? If I do not encounter any issues I'll assume that everything is fine and it's worked.
Thanks for the tip, I'll try this next chance I get!
