R6300 wired computer cannot see wirelss computers
Sometime in the last couple of months I lost the ability to connect to my laptop on the wireless network. The laptop can see the desktop mapped drives through the wireless network.. I have tried...

Yes, it has been working for a couple of years but somethig just stopped it. I can see an icon for the latop in the Network pane. But get an error when I truy to see the laptop.

Did you update Windows on the laptop recently? One of the major updates, like the Fall Creators Update, may have reset things.
Can you ping the laptop from the wired machine? If yes, then the router is definitely not the source of your problem.

I update whenever they come . I cannot ping the laptop from the desktop.

I assumed that you are running Windows 10, but if you are running Windows 7, then the sharing settings are a little different. Frankly, I don't have a Windows 7 machine any more, but I believe it has a similar setting to make it discoverable.
If the laptop is running any third-party security software, like Kaspersky, Symantec, etc., then you should check those settings, too.
Do you have any other routers or networking gear in your setup, or are all of your devices connected directly to the router?
Could your laptop, by any chance, be connected to the R6300's guest network?
Are the IP addresses of the laptop and the wired computer on the same IP subnet? Can you provide them? There's no harm sharing them; they're private IP addresses.- RedRaspberryJan 13, 2018Guide
I had Bitdefender support doing a remote session yesterday and they disabled their program with no luck restoring the connection. The desktop is a Win 7 pro and laptop Win 8.1
The laptopIP is 10.0.0.3, desktop 10.0.0.2, router 10.0.0.1 all on the same sub net 255.255.255.0
No other network gear after the router. I do have a WiFi Verizon internet jetpack and a Netgear WiFi range extender between that and the router as my internet client.
