R6300 wired computer cannot see wirelss computers
Sometime in the last couple of months I lost the ability to connect to my laptop on the wireless network. The laptop can see the desktop mapped drives through the wireless network.. I have tried...

Well, then you should go back and check the settings on the laptop. I assumed that you are running Windows 10, but if you are running Windows 7, then the sharing settings are a little different. Frankly, I don't have a Windows 7 machine any more, but I believe it has a similar setting to make it discoverable.
If the laptop is running any third-party security software, like Kaspersky, Symantec, etc., then you should check those settings, too.
Do you have any other routers or networking gear in your setup, or are all of your devices connected directly to the router?
Could your laptop, by any chance, be connected to the R6300's guest network?
Are the IP addresses of the laptop and the wired computer on the same IP subnet? Can you provide them? There's no harm sharing them; they're private IP addresses.

I had Bitdefender support doing a remote session yesterday and they disabled their program with no luck restoring the connection. The desktop is a Win 7 pro and laptop Win 8.1
The laptopIP is 10.0.0.3, desktop 10.0.0.2, router 10.0.0.1 all on the same sub net 255.255.255.0
No other network gear after the router. I do have a WiFi Verizon internet jetpack and a Netgear WiFi range extender between that and the router as my internet client.

All the network sharing optons are enabled and are the same on each machine.
- TheEtherJan 14, 2018GuruAny chance that your laptop is connecting directly to either the range extender or Jetpack?
Is your router in "router" or "AP mode"?- RedRaspberryJan 14, 2018Guide
The laptop is connected to the router.
What is AP or router mode?
- TheEtherJan 14, 2018GuruThere is a setting on the R6300 to disable its routing, NAT and firewall functions. It's called AP (Access Point) mode. If you don't know what this is, then you probably didn't enable it.
It's bizarre that you can't ping your laptop. The Wi-Fi and wired LAN networks are supposed to be bridged together. AFAIK, there is NO setting on this router to isolate the two.
At this point, all I can suggest is to factory reset your router. You can do that by selecting the Erase option under ADVANCED > Administration > Backup Settings.
You may also want to see if there is an updated firmware. Go to support.netgear.com, enter R6300 and select the option to download firmware. Follow the instructions to install it.
