R6400 can't change wireless channel

Hi,

I am trying to change the wireless channel on my R6400 router but when I save the change it pops up a message saying "Please select the correct region for your location" and won't let me save. There is a Region selection field at the top of the page that shows a value of "Select region". However, the field is greyed out and I cannot select a region.

How can I change the wireless channel?

Thank you!

Firmware: V1.0.1.62_1.0.41

  • A couple things.

Are you logging in through the browser?

    What region are you in?

under the Advanced--->wireless settings---> region selection does it show anything selected for your region?

How about if you go to Advanced home tab. Under wireless settings does it show your region?

Another thing is youre a bit behind on firmware. for your version the latest is 1.0.1.72.  It might be worth upgrading, doing a factory reset, and a reinstall.

      Hi plemans,

Thank you very much for your help!

Yes, I'm logging in through the browser. I am in Canada.

Under Advanced --> Wireless Settings --> Region Selection it shows: "--- Select Region ---" and the dropdown is greyed out so I can't change it.

Under Advanced Home tab under Wireless Settings for Region it shows "-"

Thanks for the firmware info. Interestingly when I checked for updates under Administration --> Router Update it said there are no updates.

I manually installed the 1.0.1.72 firmware but still can't change the region. :(
