Devices (laptops) that have this adapter are specified to only connect to 802.11n which means that the adapter is not dual band. You may want to check for wireless interference using a WiFi analytics app/program.

Thanks for helping tried a program called inssider home and I am trying to find how to use it. I did not know about the adapter thank you so much, I need to find where to get a better connection in my house though, I will be looking in more about where the trouble is.

You may also try using the WiFi analytics feature of the NETGEAR Genie app/program to help you identify the best channel, check for interference, and location to place the router and/or your device/s. You can download the latest version of the app/program using the link below on your preferred platform.
