I changed out my modem and have a default gateway address (my IP address changed) how do I configure a Port Forwarding or is there another way

What modem/gateway do you have?
Have you looked through the manual on port forwarding?
There's a support site with access to manuals, firmware, install guides, etc.
Go to https://www.netgear.com/support/
Type in your model number and from there it'll take you to the above.
Its a great resource to start with.

I can't tell from your message. People often talk about "Port Forwarding" when they really need to do something else.

You've lost the password for the router?
Have you tried the password recovery option?
If you don't know the answers to those (or didn't set them up), then you'd need to factory reset to get back in.

Your first message referred to "a default gateway address". That could mean many things. That's why I asked what you are trying to do.
