R6400v2
I use the NighthawkX6 as my only house router. Many devices wireless attached and it works fine. I also have a R6400v2 that I would like to use as a WIRELESS bridge to the Nighthawk. It is not possib...

This requires setting up the R6400v2 as a wireless repeater. Not all routers offer that mode.
Looking at the manual for the R6400v2, I see no sign that it supports repeater mode.

Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware.
It does offer "bridge mode". See the section Enable bridge mode.
But that is probably not what you want.
This also requires your anonymous NighthawkX6 – that's not a Netgear model number – to play ball.

That requires a wired connection to the main router, which you say is not possible. There is, however, a way to "wire" the R6400v2. You can join the two with Powerline Ethernet. This turns your mains circuit into a local Ethernet link.
But that may cost be more than you would pay for a wifi repeater.
