R7000 wireless router - Nighthawk firmware update failure

I tried updating the firmware through the Nighthawk app. Not only did that fail, but I have also now lost connection to my Wi-Fi network. It won’t accept the password at the bottom of the router. I need this to be up and running ASAP and would so appreciate any pointers. Should I try to reset it? How? Already tried rebooting the modem. Help!

I'd avoid any "app", and stick to a web browser on a computer with a
    wired connection to the router.

So, both your customized wireless credentials and the default
wireless credentials fail?  Do the LED indicators on the router indicate
    anything interesting?

Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
for Documentation.  Get the User Manual.  Look for "Top and Front
Panels" and "Table 1. LED and button descriptions".

What do the LED indicators indicate?  Did you press the "WiFi On/Off
    button with LED"?

Hardly anyone wants to wait very long.

       If nothing else helps.

Look in the User Manual for "Factory Settings".

    > [...] Already tried rebooting the modem.

Not likely to solve a router problem.
