Thank you so much for your quick reply michaelkenward that's great and given me a really good direction to move towards.
I think that putting the Orbi router into AP mode will be the way ahead and the set up of this seems relatively easy, connecting to the existing router to set it up.
From all the tutorials and searching I've done on this, it seems that the Orbi router will need to remain connected via a cable to the existing router, is that true...? Ideally what I want is a solution where the Orbi router connects wirelessly to the regular router as I would like to put it on a floor above, and then the Orbi satellite on a floor above that again...
Not sure if that's possible though.

In AP mode yes.

My way around this is to use the house's Powerline Ethernet on the mains circuit to connect the (R7800) router to an Orbi in AP mode.
Beats wifi repeater mode, if the Orbi and your anonymous router support it. Wifi is flaky and can be slower than decent Powerline.
But that may depend on the speed of your Internet service. I am on DSL.
