Which Bt Modem?
some have their own integrated routers which cause a double nat.

disconnect the modem from the router, reboot the router, then try the routerlogin address
If that doesn't work, open a command prompt and type ipconfig
the default gateway would be the ip address.

It's the Huawei EchoLife HG612
I'll reset the modem later when work is finished and report back
I've managed to connect in the past - that's how I setup the router in the 1st place
I may have to do a factory reset and see if that solves the problem

The EchoLife HG612 is a modem/router combo device. It causes a double nat.

it can also cause IP address conflicts.
Try putting the RAX200 in access point mode. Then look in the echolifes attached devices page (or equivelent) for the ip address for the RAX.
Or you could put the echolife in passthrough mode (if it has one) or put the netgears IP address into the echolifes DMZ.
With the 2nd 2 options, you'll probably need to change the netgears default ip address so it doesn't conflict with the echolifes
