I am also run into the same issue of the following router
Nighthawk X6 AC3200 Smart WiFi Router (R8000)
Serial Number: 3W74487H03B4D
Previous Firmware Version
V1.0.4.28_10.1.54
Current Firmware Version (Updated on 02/01/2022)
V1.0.4.76_10.1.82
Could someone suggest which FW version to downgrade in order to fix this issue?
Thank you,

Do yourself a favor and throw your Netgear router in the garbage and go out and buy a different brand. It's been 6 months and Netgear hasn't done anything to correct the issue other than tell you to turn off your virus protection contact your ISP and tell them they have a DNS issue.

It isn't the usual response to that problem.
Roll back to older firmware works for most people.

I didn't read it anywhere. That's what Netgear support told me after several days of "try this" and "try that." I'm the person who started this thread. Scroll to the beginning to read the whole saga. Rolling back didn't work.- michaelkenwardFeb 12, 2022Guru - Experienced User

Even Netgear probably knows by now that whoever you contacted back then was wrong.
Much better to work on what we know now.
Rolling back didn't work.It did for many people. That should be a cue to dig deeper into what is happening at our end.
Did you get anywhere? (Forgive me if I don't re-read all of the past 168 messages..)
