Regular but intermittent LAN and internet outages
Netgear genie R6100
Firmware version V1.0.1.20
OS Windows 7 Pro 64Bit
Both LAN and internet connections drop for approximately 2 minutes then restore. The DSL modem indicates that it is still connected to the ISP and the provider's research shows the drop is not on their system.
The outages occur every evening, usually between 9 & 11, and may occur multiple times. They may occur at other times of day when the computers are not being used.
I am unable to connect to router admin during the outages which suggest to me that the problem is with the router.
I have rebooted the router but the problem persists.
Has anyone else experienced this problem and, if so, is there a fix.
Thanks
Hi Aurora,
1. Have you tried resetting the router to factory defaults?
2. Does the issue persist on both your wired and wireless devices?
3. Have you tried replacing the Ethernet cable connecting the modem to the router?
4. If the issue persists on your wireless devices only, have you tried changing the wireless channel?
5. If the issue persists, you can try re-flashing the firmware. The links below may help out.
