Reinstall a Netgear Router?

Help! I'm old (70) female,  and don't have the bandwidth to cope with LOTS of tech info, but am hoping someone can answer just a few quick questions?

(My setup: Running one hardwired desktop and 1 laptop computer by Wifi, with Microsoft 2010 Office/Home/Student software on a Windows 10 OS.)

I'm very UNHAPPY with the "Panoramic Wifi" my internet provider (Cox Cable) installed and now I want to ditch it.

I uninstalled my Netgear AC1750 Smart Wi-Fi Router 1GHz Dual Core Processor - Router Only (R6400-100NAS) SSN 4B35657GAD31E, and now want to reinstall it (just using the Panoramic thingy as a modem).

Is a reinstall possible?

If it is...can someone outline basic steps to accomplish it?

(I'm aware ALL my stuff is old, but I'm stuck with it for now.)
