It's not directly related to your router or its firmware.> The instruction at 0x00000000771EC240 referenced memory at

Looks to me like what it says: a run-time error in
"ControlCenter.exe", which seems to be part of some "Netgear USB Control
Center" package.> [...] Any suggestions?
Remove the "Netgear USB Control Center" package? If you're actually

(error messages, LED indicators, ...) can be more helpful than vague
descriptions or interpretations.

What "router" are you using? That message is usually related to a usb device plugged into the computer. Like a wireless network card.

I added model in "Model" field, but just in case:
R6400|AC1759 Smart WiFi Router
Sorry I forgot to mention it.

Your pc is giving you that message?

Yes. I shut down the computer, and, as I remember it, one 'app' (the "Netgear" 'app') was holding up the shutdown, and I was given the option of forcing a shutdown.

Which app?
do you use it?
You could disable it on startup. Or uninstall/reinstall it.
