Router is not connecting to modem

I had closed my spectrum account and my husband opened a new account so they provided a new modem. I have the netgear router that was using and working perfect until we switched modem. I am having trouble connecting the router to the new modem.

       I'll bite.  What, exactly, is your "a new modem"?  Maker?  Model
    number?  Is it actually a "modem", or is it a modem+router ("gateway")?
    Any useful information might help.

       "trouble"?  Cables don't fit, or some other kind of problem?

     

       "not working" is not a useful problem description.  It does not say
    what you did.  It does not say what happened when you did it.  As usual,
    showing actual actions (commands) with their actual results (error
    messages, LED indicators, ...) can be more helpful than vague
    descriptions or interpretations.

       That's not quite the bottom of the line, but I would not be amazed if
    whatever Spectrum gave you (about which I know nothing) were generally
    better than an R6260.

     

       But many things might depend on what your (unspecified) "a new modem"
    actually is.
