Router R6020 Not Providing Internet Modem Speed

Looking at the "Tech Specs" tab on the product's page: https://www.netgear.com/home/products/networking/wifi-routers/R6020.aspx#tab-techspecs
I do notice it says "Five (5) 10/100 Mbps Ethernet ports (1 WAN & 4 LAN)", however, we only have 2 ethernet cables, 1 to the modem and 1 to a gaming system. And this limitation does not explain the slower wifi.

You might be able to get faster data transfer between two wireless
client devices on your own LAN, but any data going to/from the outside
world passes through (your modem and) that 100Mb/s "Fast Ethernet"
WAN/Internet port.

> limited?No. A router with a faster WAN/Internet port and (even) the same
wireless stuff would not suffer from the same limitation. The next step
up in Ethernet speed would be 1000Mb/s, which ought to move your
bottleneck elsewhere (ISP service, modem, router wireless interface,
client-device wireless interface, or whatever).But now, it's that 100Mb/s "Fast Ethernet" WAN/Internet port.
