Samsung Bluray player cannot find Access Point for new Netgear R6300v2
Our Netgear 6300 router stopped working so we replaced it with a new Netgear 6300v2. Our Samsung Bluray player (BP-P1600) is still trying to access the old router and I am unable to change it to the...

Thanks to the community for their suggestions, but the problem was the encryption setting on the router. Changed it in order to be compatible with our fairly old DVD player and now everything works!

Thanks for your response. Both are different. I did get the new router to show up as an available Access Point by removing and reinserting the Wireless LAN adapter from the back of the DVD player (to correct a typo in my original message, the model is BD-P1600), but still cannot get it to work. I have tried entering the security code in each authentication mode (Open, WEP, WPAPSK, WPA2PSK) and get a message that the network cannot be accessed. It doesn't say why, just that it cannot. Very frustrating. Would welcome any suggestions you might have about that.

Hi LDOVE,
1. Make sure that the Bluray player is within the range of the router.
2. If available, try the automatic (DHCP) option in connecting the Bluray player instead of manually entering the wireless settings.
3. If automatic (DHCP) is not available, make sure that the wireless settings you are putting in (SSID, passphrase, security mode) are correct.
4. Make sure that there are other devices (smartphone, laptop, tablet) that can connect to the wireless network.

Dexter

Have you check to see if there is firmware update for the bluray player?
Maybe there is the answer to the problem.
