Slow internet speed issue with NETGEAR N600

Hi All

I have NETGEAR N600 Cable Modem Router (C3700). My internet speed is only around 40 Mbps even I do have 200 Mbps xfnility internet plan. xfinity support asked me to contact Wi-Fi device manufacture company. Any suggestion what can I do to get expected speed.

Measured how?  Using what for a client device, connected how?  Wired?
    Wireless, 5GHz? Wireless, 2.4GHz?

       What is your "expected speed"?

Why blame the C3700 rather than your (unspecified) client device?
Does your (unspecified) client device get higher speeds in some other
    environment?

I'm using HP laptop Elitebook and connected internet via Wi-Fi connection.

Tested with Network Band at 2.4 GHz

      • Disconnect from office VPN
        • xfinity speed test: ~50 Mbps
        • speedtest.net speed test: ~10 Mbps
      • Connect from office VPN
        • xfinity speed test: 0 Mbps
        • speedtest.net speed test: ~10 Mbps

Tested with Network Band at 5 GHz

      • Disconnect from office VPN
        • xfinity speed test: ~120 Mbps
        • speedtest.net speed test: ~20 Mbps
      • Connect from office VPN
        • xfinity speed test: ~0 Mbps
        • speedtest.net speed test: ~20 Mbps

Speed is little better now with 5 GHz but only while disconnected from office VPN. I cannot work while disconnected from office VPN so not much helpful.

In office I get enough speed and don't see any disturbance while attending online meetings.

Is there any other setting I can change in modem router to get higher speed? If not any suggestion for good modem router.

      Thank you
