Unfortunately, LAN ports can't be fixed by firmware.
Therefore, it's time to get a new router.

Is it the same on all ports from the router?
What's the exact model number of your NETGEAR router?
If the manual of your router states that the LAN should received 10/100/1000 then definitely, it's a bad port.
Did you try swapping the Ethernet cables?
Are you using the same computer when you do the test?

The model number is WNDR4300.
New cables were purchased about 3-4 weeks ago. No difference. Switching out the cables — changing them up with respect to individual ports — doesn’t make any difference either.

Just out of curiosity: what is the average lifespan of a router these days? This router is not even two years old and already it has been malfunctioning for a while.
