SONOS play 1 not functioning with N600 WNDR3400v3
N600 broadcasts a guest network IP Address 172.16.01.8
My SONOS play 1 will not function with 172.xx.xx.x address.
How do I receive a 192.xx.xx.x IP address? or is there another solution.
My SONOS worked fine until we removed one of our 2 Play stations. only using one now.
Hello Cyndismith8 Normally, the router will provide 192.168.1.x. It is possible that there's another router in your network that uses the same type of IP address range hence the router changed itself to 172.16.1.x.
You can always change the LAN IP address of the router to be on its default range. However, it is best to gather all details of your network before changing any settings.
What's the brand and model of your modem?
Perhaps, the modem has that 192.168.x.x range and it's causing conflict to the router.
You can verify this by connecting a computer directly to the modem. Once done, check the IP address of the computer.
If you get the 192.168.x.x then you'll need to contact your ISP and have them change the LAN IP to something else.
Once the modem has a different LAN segment then you may access the admin page of the router by accessing it through 172.16.1.1.
Go to Advanced > LAN Setup > change the IP address
After saving the settings, you'll get page cannot be displayed then just restart your computer for it to get the 192.168.x.x range.
