1. On both instances, it may be caused by wireless interference. You can use a WiFi analyzer app/program and change the channel for the wireless bands to the best available.
2. Does the issue persist on all your wireless devices?
3. Have you tried reflashing the firmware and resetting the router?

1. I ran through all the channels on the 2.4 ghz and seems to resolve the issue. There didn't seem to be a bunch of wireless near me according to a program for finding wifi
