Static IP issue - not beginner
So, after much searching on the net, rewording the issue a multitude of ways, I cannot find any help for my and my internet provider's issue. After working on it for HOURS (literally), we called it quits for the night. The issue: Static IP, Gateway IP, DNS IP's all plugged into the router properly, yet sites like whatismyip.com keep showing the old gateway IP the company had used prior to now. From all the company (which I shall leave unnamed) can tell, the internet should see the static IP they have assigned to me, which I (a former Navy ET that worked on computers/servers/etc for a living so definitely know what I'm doing on my end) plugged into my router. All the internet searches keep yielding me for help pisses me off, because it's, forgive my french, bullcrap answers for people that don't know a gateway from a router, have no clue what the difference between a static and dynamic IP is, and wouldn't know a switch from a backbone. I'm sorry if this offends some of you in the community, but having worked in this industry as long as I did, the fact that the internet, even after very specifically saying "static ip set in router, but not being seen by IP lookup online" keeps thinking I'm asking for help understanding the difference between a static and dynamic, or worse thinks I'm talking about my computer's IP that the router assigned to the device! Can anyone give possible insight for this? We hope to get back to work on the issue in the morning.
Edit: forgot to put in the model router I use, sorry for the confusion that may have caused.
We just switched me back to dynamic for now until the provider can figure out why the hell the static IP is not properly registering. So, "issue resolved" by no resolution at all.

I should mention: I get out to the net fine, all web pages load with no issue.
Much as the life history is interesting, I'm having a hard time working out just what is going wrong on your network. (I have a limited attention span.)
Can you narrow it down to essentials.
What are you doing and where does it go wrong?
What firmware version do you have on the device?
A number is more useful than "the latest". (It may not be by the time people read this.) There can also be newer versions, or "hot fixes", that do not show up if you check for new firmware in the browser interface.
It might also help if you told people what the modem is in front of this router. The model number could be useful. Is it, by any chance, also a router, with a set of LAN ports on the back?
The reason for asking is that a lot of people turn up here trying to put a router behind a modem that is also a router. That can complicate troubleshooting.- AidylasiaAspirant
It is stated quite clearly in there what the issue is. The only "life history" I gave was the fact that I worked in the computer networking industry in the Navy, thus making it clear that I'm not some beginner that doesn't know anything about how to do this stuff. If you can't take the time to read and see the "the issue:" early in the comment, then please do not reply.
Oh, and the bulk of the rest is me complaining how all my searching on the web only gave bullcrap answers for newbies that had nothing to do with the actual issue at hand. Thus NOT "life history" but a list of the ts procedures that have already been gone thru.
As for the firmware, as I said in the initial comment: I WORKED THIS BIZ FOR A LIVING. I do believe you can be rest assured that the firmware is up to date. That is ALWAYS the FIRST TS step to take with routers when you are having issues with them! If you note my reply. If there were a Modem, I would have mentioned it. There is a POE, not a modem. The POE has nothing to do with the issue. As for the "what's the issue" and "where does it go wrong" questions, they are clearly laid out in sentence 3. I worked in troubleshooting and customer service. Giving as much info as possible (yes, even rants about what what you've tried can be helpful to the one trying to help) is always the best option. Since you mentioned it, I will add the following, but I am NOT going to restate what has already been stated:
Firmware version: V1.0.0.66 - no newer version or hotfixes were available, and YES, I checked...big duh.

Thanks for the education.
