telnet credentials for R6220

I got an e-mail from NETGEAR that I have to update my firmware, but the directions for doing so are inconsistent with the commands that are available where I login to the NETGEAR site.

  • More specifically, it says to: Click Maintenance > Router Upgrade. There is no Maintenance command, however.

    The only options available are:

    - Internet

    - Wireless

    - Attached Devices

    - Parental Control

    - ReadySHARE

    - Guest Network

PS: I don't know where the "telnet credentials" came from in the Subject line...  :-(

      What is this Netgear site?

Do you mean the browser interface to control the router?

      The usual destinations are:

      http://www.routerlogin.com/

      and

      http://www.routerlogin.net

These are not a website somewhere out there on the internet. Just local access to the router's management pages.

Check the top for an ADVANCED link. The bits you list are on the BASIC tab.

The instructions in the Release Notes are hopeless.

On the ADVANCED tab you need:

      • Administration
      • Firmware Update
