What is your "ROUTER"?
Why would you do this?

It won't harm it at all just will take a minute or 2 to reconnect to the modem/internet.

I'm with wcalifas. It should do any harm, but there is a school of thought that says that constantly turning electronic stuff on and off can break it. This is because the on/off move is a shock the system. Leaving things on is more normal. The energy saved will be minimal. Modern stuff should be less prone to this behaviour, but why risk it?
If it is the wifi you want to turn off, many devices let you set a timetable for that. Or you can just press a wifi on/off switch on the thing.
Some people don't like all those LEDs on at night. Again, there are settings for this on some devices.

The Light Bulb theory:
Light bulbs rarely fail when on. They mostly fail when turned on. I apply this to most of my electronics.

I go along with that, but it came into being in the era of incandescent light bulbs?
Then we had the "compact fluorescent".
Now we have LEDs.
The lapsed experimental physicist in me would love to see some experiments on this.

Those guys seem to suffer from power supply failures. The LEDs especially from heat. You aren't supposed to use them in an enclosure that isn't open to the air. I have tall ceilings so that is a trade-off. Anything that keeps the ladder in the basement longer is fine by me.
