Unable to access cloud storage device outside of home

Hi, I have an orbi wifi mesh system and just purchased and set up a personal cloud storage device. I can't access the cloud storage outside of my home.I tried to set up port forwarding on the orbi router. When I go open the  port for the cloud storage it is listed as a different IP address in Orbi's port forwarding than it is on the personal clouds link. As a result, I can't use the IP address for the cloud storage, when I used the IP address that Orbi sees it as, I can't access the device. How do I set it up to access the device given this issue?

  • Update (Didn't see how to edit original post) - In port forwarding the ip addresses do match up correctly now. But I still can't access it externally. The protocol is tcp/udp, port is 9000 and the internal external port is checked to match. What am I doing wrong?

         Firmware version(s)?  Connected to what?

Not a very detailed description of anything.  Maker?  Model number?
At least one of us might want to read the documentation for it.

"access" _how_?  "can't" is not a useful problem description. It
does not say what you did.  It does not say what happened when you did
it.  As usual, showing actual actions (commands) with their actual
results (error messages, LED indicators, ...) can be more helpful than
      vague descriptions or interpretations.

Why?  Are you following some set of instructions or other?  "tried"
_how_, exactly?  See "not a useful problem description [...]", above.

With my weak psychic powers, I can't see either of those addresses.
What's a "the personal clouds link"?

         What, exactly, are you doing?

        Via internet access - http://buffalonas.com/LVDesigns/

I receive the following error message - "The Buffalo NAS Device Could Not Be connected. Check the settings of the buffalo NAS device and the router."

I'm following a set of instructions. According to Buffalo Support the router is blocking access. That Port 9000 is not open. That I need to open it on my router so that I can access the NAS device over the internet.

No longer an issue. The link is the link I provided in this response.
