Unable to access routerlogin.net
Goal: Access router settings to change SSID and defualt password
Issue:
When I attempt to access www.routerlogin.net via Chrome I am prompted to enter a username and password. I enter the information provided on the back of the router. Username: admin, Password: (defined by netgear). However, I get the following message: "Your connection to this site is not private" No option is provided to ignore the message or to circumvent.
Other troubleshooting steps completed
Reset router to factory settings
connected computer to router via ethernet - made sure I'm not connected to anyother network
I am able to ping the router with no issue
cleared cache, website data, and histroy
I have tried IE but I do not recall what messages I recieved
Let me know of what additional infomation is need to help troubleshoot or if there is anything I can try.
Lastly, this is a new router, purchased it 5/28/2018
Thank you!

Update:
Mistake I was making was that instead of typing in admin for Username and password in for the PW I was using the info on the back of the router.
That could have been the wifi password.
That is not the same as the router access password.

Update:
So I uninstalled my AV.... not really sure if that was this issue but could have been... Mistake I was making was that instead of typing in admin for Username and password in for the PW I was using the info on the back of the router.
I then reinstalled my AV and I am still able to login.

- bboieddieAspirantThe message came from the browser(chrome). Specifically, under the Password feild in the login window that overlays itself on top of the main browers window.
And yes, the router login info is not the same as the wifi login. For which I am actually thankful for! I’ve worked with other routers in the past where this isn’t the case and the router login is the wifi login. I always thought that was a bit lazy.... and a huge security issue.
