Unable to access web GUI, "routerlogin.net didn’t send any data" - AC2000/WAC124
Have now had over 50% of the WAC124 AP's I've sold and installed become slow and the web GUI's inaccessable. As if hacked. I get this message in every browser, it varies a bit per browser but essentially is always a dropped connection.
"Unable to access web GUI, "routerlogin.net didn’t send any data" - AC2000/WAC124"
I can reset to factory defaults and as soon as I configure, it goes right back to this.
Of cousre, if you're with the AP, you can disconnect the WAN port and disable SSO. Not handy if managing remotely. We've put all Netgear orders and intstalls on hold and cautioned our customers about these APs until we can get word from Netgear that they are safe to use.
Of couse, to get anything out of Netgear's 3 year warranty on this product, you have to purchase a support contract.

So Netgear's SSO is broken, at least for the WAC124. So the trick is how to acess the web GUI after Netgear broke it. You can still access after disabling the WAN connection, but then how to use the AP? Well, firewall it.
We used a Cisco Meraki MX to firewall the WAC124 and prevent it from accessing the internet. Just the WAC124, all devices connected to it still have internet access. So the WAC124 is prevented from accessing the internet and thus the end user is presented with the local login.
There you go, kick that personal-info-scraping SSO to the curb! Get your WAC124 back without paying support money to Netgear.
