Unable to connect to Skype after installing WiFi router - WNDR3400

ElaineM: You were correct in stating that there was some settings within the computer or browser settings that were the problem. Actually got help from the Skype community. I plead ignorance to the fact that you need Internet Explorer for Skype to work. Duh! I have been using Google Chrome exclusively. When I brought up Internet Explorer, it wasn't working. No network connections. I went to the I.E. LAN Settings and the "Automatically detect settings" box was unchecked. After checking it, I was able to get on the network again and Skype worked correctly. Too easy. Didn't think about looking at IE at all. Thanks very much for the help!!!
FYI: I am using Skype on a Win 7 desktop PC.

Are you trying to use Skype on your desktop computer?
Have you tried clearing your browser settings?
What's the Operating System of your computer?
Since you have internet access through the router then this must be some settings within your computer or some browser settings.
