ElaineM: You were correct in stating that there was some settings within the computer or browser settings that were the problem. Actually got help from the Skype community. I plead ignorance to the fact that you need Internet Explorer for Skype to work. Duh! I have been using Google Chrome exclusively. When I brought up Internet Explorer, it wasn't working. No network connections. I went to the I.E. LAN Settings and the "Automatically detect settings" box was unchecked. After checking it, I was able to get on the network again and Skype worked correctly. Too easy. Didn't think about looking at IE at all. Thanks very much for the help!!!
FYI: I am using Skype on a Win 7 desktop PC.
