Update Firmware unknown error -1 D6400 model
HI, Am trying to update modem version V1.0.0.56_1.0.56 after downloading update - message is unknown error -1. If this because to many updates in between. Wonder if anyone can help, please. Chris...

Try something somewhere in the middle – between your version and the latest – and see if that works. Then work your way up. Not one step at a time, once you have got one update to stick, try the newest. You just need to find the one that unblocks the process.
You could also try a factory reset before and after the upgrade. Netgear also sometimes recommends a modem/router reboot before an update.
This loses your settings – you have to reconfigure the modem/router – but a large leap in versions probably needs that anyway.

The error came up when trying to install new update. Download fine when tries to update came up with unknown error -1.
Wondered if the update was to advanced the current one on the modem is the one l listed.
did follow what you said and tried but no help.
