Using R6100 as a switch
I'm trying to set up my Netgear R6100 to function as a switch, but can't seem to figure out what settings to change.
If you only want to use the LAN ports, and not the wifi, try just plugging things into the four Ethernet ports, with one of them connected to the router.
Press the wifi On/Off button to turn the WiFi (and its LED) off.
Just got this to work with an old ADSL modem I had lying around.
Some routers let the WAN port double as a LAN port. Not sure about this one.
Not a very detailed descrition of the problem. Do you mean that you
want to use the set of LAN ports on the R6100 as an Ethernet switch, or
do you want to use the R6100 as a wireless access point, or what?

I don't know if this is a complete list of steps, but I'd start with:
Switch off the radios. Perhaps: ADVANCED > Advanced Setup > Wireless
Settings : Enable Wireless Router Radio (both).
Disable the DHCP server. Perhaps: ADVANCED > Setup > LAN Setup : Use
Router as DHCP Server.
Set some harmless (static) LAN IP address for the
not-really-a-router-any-more. This value would depend on your LAN
environment. Perhaps: ADVANCED > Setup > LAN Setup : LAN TCP/IP Setup :
IP Address. (You could set it to some odd-ball/off-LAN value, but then
you might find it difficult to do anything else with it, other than
press its Reset button. A realistic value should allow you to continue
to communicate with its Web site interface, should the need arise.)
And avoid using the WAN/Internet port.
