WAX204-as-bridge?All I know about the WAX204 is what I read in its User Manual, parts
of which make little sense, but I suspect that you're doomed. The WAX204 User Manual (especially "Figure 9. WiFi bridge between two
APs") seems to suggest wireless connections between client devices and
every box with an antenna, but I suspect that that's nonsense. Compare
that picture with the text:Cable the AP that functions as a WiFi bridge to your Smart TV,
NeoTV, or Blu-ray player, and use its 802.11ax WiFi connection tothe first AP in the office.
That is, cable connections between client devices and the
WAX204-as-bridge, and a wireless connection between the WAX204-as-bridge
and the main router (access point). That would be consistent with other
Netgear routers which have a wireless-bridge mode option (and less
confusing documentation), where the wireless stuff in the
router-as-bridge is dedicated to communication with the main router
(access point), and is not available for communication with client
devices.ADVANCED > Advanced Setup > Router / AP / Bridge Mode is a "pick one
mode" control. I claim.Older (now unavailable) editions of some manuals ("May 2017",
"202-11301-11" for the R7000, for example), included a "Figure 9. Router
in bridge mode with an 802.11ac WiFi connection" which actually made
sense, and clearly showed who was connected to whom, how.But they've "improved" their documentation greatly since then.
