Your router is ancient. While it may be possible to handle 300 Mbps wired, don't expect that of wireless.

Nope.
This thing has its origins in 2010. It is limited to 100BASE-TX on the WAN and LAN ports. So top speed on wired connections is 100 Mbps.
It cannot even get faster than that with the wired (WAN) connection to the modem. Modern routers deliver at least 1000 Mbps on the WAN port.
