WGR614v7. Changing encryption type from WEP to WPA2.
Can I change the encryption type from WEP to WPA2 without changing any other settings (such as username or password)? My new security cameras require WPA2 level encryption on my router. Thanks
- May 03, 2024In short, yes on many. But some explicitly require you need to tell them what encryption you use by selecting the right option they provide

Thanks for your reply. I will probably change routers. Still, can I change encryption levels without disrupting my network devices?

- Allied605May 03, 2024AspirantThank you for the advice. I will change the encryption level on this router until I get a new one, and hope everything stays online.
- microchip8May 03, 2024MasterIf not, usually only thing you need to change is the level on the device. No need to re-enter passwords or so
- Allied605May 03, 2024AspirantThank you for the advice. I’m going to try this.
