Wifi Extender Setup - WRT1000v4

Both should have wireless repeating in order to set it up completely.
The only way to extend the signal is to connect the second router with an Ethernet cable from main router.

Welcome to the community, THowe683
Can you verify the model WRT1000v4?
It seems that it's not in our list of routers/extenders.
However, to setup wireless repeating you can use this article as a guide.

Sorry, my two models are:
Netgear 75 / N900 (WNDR4500v3) - main router connected to broadband modem broadcasting 2.4 Ghz and 5 GHz
and
Netgear 38 (WNR1000v4) - spare, want to use as a WIFI extender for 2.4 GHz

Do you the Wireless Repeating options on both routers?
If you do, did you follow the link from the previous post?
- THowe683Jan 18, 2017AspirantThank you for the response. However, on the main wifi router I do not see the option to set up as a base unit. There is no option under Advanced for Wireless Repeation Option. I have an option for Wireless AP or Wireless Bridge.
