Wifi Lost on AC1750 R6400v2

Dear All,

I own Router R6400v2 AC1750. Firmware V1.0.4.106_10.0.80 (latest version).

It is configured in Wifi Acces Point, behind freebox internet box.

I use WiFi « n » only + Ethernet.

My routeur always reacts like that :

  • At fresh reboot, everything is fine. Wifi and Ethernet rates are around 33 Mb/sec, all stable.
  • After 1 to 2 weeks, but also frequently after only 1 day, the wifi connection becomes very bad : unstable and very slow : Between 0 to 5 Mb/sec. (see attached file : Wifi.png)
  • Where as at the same time, Ethernet stays stable, around 33 Mb/sec. (see attached file : Ethernet.png)

Would you have an explanation and do you know how to solve this very bad wifi behaviour ? Like a lot of people, I work from home with WiFi => a very unstable connection is a nightmare.

Thank you very much !

  • One more message to send the other file (Ethernet.png)

  • are you connecting to the 2.4ghz or the 5ghz?

2.4ghz is more sensitive to interference.

      I use only 2,4 GHz.
      - The Wifi problem appears also when I stand just next to the router
      - I live in the countryside, there are just a few other WiFi networks around (3 exactly)
      - Some of my devices are only compatible with 2,4 GHz
      Thanks a lot !

You can try downgrading the firmware.

But I'd actually start by moving all your devices with 5ghz, to the 5ghz band. Its significantly faster and has less interference.

And it isn't just other routers in the area for 2.4ghz. Many devices use the 2.4ghz band.
