Upgraded my wifi from 500 to 1 gig and my wifi speed is all over the place, one time its 500-600 other times 100-200. Getting consistent 600+ on ethernet. Was told my router was the issue ac2600 rx450...

What model router do you have? Is this a Orbi router or RAX series router?

Please look at the label on the router for the model number.
What is the brand name and model number of the modem connected upstream between your router and the internet?

I get 600-800 download at both the modem and via ethernet off the router/access point. Just seems like it shouldn’t be so inconsistent on wifi if it’s staying steady on Ethernet.

Do you have relatively close by neighbors that also have Wi-Fi devices broadcasting?
If your two Wi-Fi devices, R7450 and WAX204 are within a few feet of each other, they can interfere. The interference also depends on what channels they are broadcasting on. The 2.4 GHz band has channel numbers as does the 5 GHz band. Do you have the SSIDs set the same on both devices?
If the Spectrum device is a combination modem/router, it can throw a third Wi-Fi device within range and complicate troubleshooting.
