Wifi router help
Upgraded my wifi from 500 to 1 gig and my wifi speed is all over the place, one time its 500-600 other times 100-200. Getting consistent 600+ on ethernet. Was told my router was the issue ac2600 rx450...

The WAX204 is designed primarily to function as an access point, but can operate as a
lightweight SOHO router with support for a PPPoE, PPTP, L2TP, or IPv6 Internet
connection.
So sounds like i was mis lead on the wax204.
Modem is en2251 made by hitron technologies but branded by spectrum. From that is Ethernet cable to the R7450 router. Even with the WAX204 connected directly to my modem ( r7450 not being used)it put out both 2.4 and 5 wifi connections which seemed to work just fine was just slower than the r7450. All my devices worked, i was just seeing slower speeds vs the r7450
I guess in the end, is there something better than the 7450 I currently have that will get me faster/more consistent wifi speeds, I only have 1 device that runs direct Ethernet cable. And i have a few that only run on 2.4 so I need something that offers both 2.4&5ghz
I just dont want to pay extra for 1gig internet if i can really only utilize 500mb i had before
