Wifi signal is slow.

Hello, I have a WN3000RPv2 – N300 WiFi Range Extender and the connection is awful. My router is far from my room the regular connetion (non ext) is better way better then the extendend one and the regular one even runs slow. So I'm just wondering how do I improve the connectioin of my Wifi range extender. Thank you.

  • How slow is slow to you?

Range extenders (single/dual band) drop throughput 50% because of how they have to function to operate. So take the speed that your phone is getting where the range extender is at (connected to router) and cut that speed in half. Thats the speed you'll get from a range extender. They are a benefit for getting additional range or covering a dead spot. But if the router has coverage where you're at, it tends to have faster speeds unless its at the very peripheral.
