Will my router support 1gig speed;
Will this router support 1 gigabyte of internet speed?

IF your referring to the WNDR4500..maybe, however it's old enough, he may not have the HW NAT acceleration support or cut-thru needed for ISPs with 1Gb Down and UP speed support.
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?

I would look at a tested review of the device from when it was released (11 years ago).

That'll give you realistic expectations for that device.
If you're getting gigabit speeds, an upgraded router would be beneficial to utilize your speeds.
