WN3000RP_RV wireless network set up.
I have the network extender WN3000RP but haven't used in in some time as I've upgraded the home network. Lately, I've been wanting to set up a wireless network for my motorhome (RV) that already has a "smart" tv. My thought process is this, I would like to stream from my cell phone (not connected to a Wi-Fi, but rather cellular service) through the WN3000RN to the smart tv, no other network would be involved. With the way the current streaming services are set up I need both my phone and tv on the "same network" and this is why I would like to set up the extender to do this. Any thoughts on feasibility? I dusted the extender off last night and tried to connect via ethernet it appears that it's alive and well, but the instructions keep referring me to "connect to the router" not really what I want to do as I would like the extender to be a standalone network with its own name that can be pulled into the tv and phone. The complete model number of the extender is this, WN3000RP V1H2. Any help with instructions to accomplish my task is greatly appreciated! Not real teckie but I do have a little background with IT talk, so take it easy on me if I don't understand exactly what you're typing.

The only way the extender will work is if you connect it to a wifi signal, i.e. wifi router or wifi single from your phone when you turn on wifi hot spot features, then this could connect to the phone and then the TV could connect to the extender. This model extender only works as a wifi extender.

the only real way to coble that together would be to get a USB adapter for your phone so it had ethernet out.
then connect it to the extender with the extender in access point mode.
I wouldn't do this though as that extender isn't that great and the hotspot on your phone is probably more capable.
Why are you set on using the the extender and not the phone's hotspot?

Thank you both for your responses, I’ll say that I’m open for ideas and suggestions, I’ll also say that I haven’t tried the Hot Spot approach and will attempt that tomorrow. So far the only time I’ve been able to stream was hardwired from phone to tv via an iPhone dongle with hdmi cable and that had limited success. I have read several articles that state a WiFi router is the only way to stream from cellular signal and then connected to a local network for all devices, hence my current attempt to create a local network within my RV. I’ll do some exploring tomorrow and report back. Btw “screen mirroring” is a no go, the phone and tv will not talk to each other.
Try the hotspot first.
If that doesn't work, you can always get a usb-ethernet adapter and connect your phone to a router (in access point mode).
If its just for an RV, GL-iNet has a great range of travel routers that are quite capable. they have router mode, access point mode (for if you're hardwiring the phone to the router), and wisp mode. wisp mode is great for RV parks that have their own wifi as it can connect to the RV park's wifi and rebroadcast to your devices.
