WNCE4004 corrupt firmware?

You can try recovering it with nmrpflash or tftp. Not sure if it'll work as that device is from 2012.
MIght be worth upgrading because it might not just be a corrupt firmware but storage chip finally giving up.
are you on windows? if so, follow this guide

just make sure you enable tftp

If it doesn't work, what would you suggest replacing it with? As you say it is quite old.
